out, vile jelly! [20 Jul 2007|08:59am]
[ music | Superchunk - Shallow End ]

whai these bitches all so tall.

ah, a woman after my own height heart.

the necklace you see binding fawn and i in friendship suffered a lot yesterday. i was playing with the string (or rather, "worrying" the string.. nyeheh, have always wanted to use worrying in that context, it's the kind of thing only ever written and never said aloud), so an entire strand of bright green beads went skittering across the floor of citylink. luckily it was a double strand to begin with so my necklace wasn't a completely lost cause. heh after the incident i scurried back to raffles city to hunt down the fiends and by the time we walked back through citylink on the way to the esplanade there was nary a bead in sight. super efficient at cleaning up, is singapore.

fawn: *eating walkers shortbread*
fawn: UK play.. UK biscuits.. what do you call UK people ah?
everyone else: *steels selves*
fawn: ukrainians!

they were also talking about how when fawn is part of the MFA, we might one day read in the papers that ties between singapore and france have been severed. i think i heard fawn say, "severed. severely severed" but i'm not sure if anyone else heard. hee hee ♥

king lear was amazing, as is to be expected la, from RSC after all. mckellen was superb, his monologues never lapsed into monotony at all. the play lasted four hours but you hardly ever felt it, i think. i wouldn't have felt it, if i hadn't needed to pee like crazy about half an hour into the first half. yep, but anyway THE MCKELLEN. goneril and regan were fantastic too, especially goneril who had the most evil, red nails on throat female voice i've heard since i first watched the original wizard of oz and got freaked out by the wicked witch.

mm, much as i obviously love hanging out with fiends, nowadays every outing begins to seem more and more like part of a countdown. it's gonna get increasingly painful squeezing in time with whoever's still here after awhile when some of us have already flown away. that's the price we have to pay for new chapters, i suppose.

speaking of which, HARRY POTTER! tomorrow! i'll have to set out for the national library at 7 a.m :\ but HARRY POTTER!
