*shuffles meekly back into blogosphere*
because i am comfortable enough with myself again to say shit online that's meant for an audience wider than one person. also, doesn't make sense for people like addie and sam to have blogs and me to not. amid the glut of would-be blogging philozophers who reel off ponderous thoughts on Life, Death and Hedonism, you need people like me and stef to plug the gap with spurts of nonsense.
speaking of nonsense, i recently decided to go back to certain books i encountered in my tender years of halcyon innocence and gave up on as being full of incomprehensible crap. but much like heart of darkness, djuna barnes' nightwood is v satisfying in its intricacies. i get a huge kick out of the animated, tactile prose that it doesn't bug me how many allusions i sense but can't quite understand.. barnes is one o them peoples who refuse to call an egg white and thereby renege on life. there's also a reference in the book to singapore as the mecca of (fallen? retired?) prostitutes, and despite being aware of this reputation thanks to Pirates of the Caribbean movies i am still mired in Disbelief. can't for life of i imagine Tuppeny Uprights in singapore's muddy alleyways. feel free to take that as a compliment, Government. it's only valid until the gst hike kicks in.
